the libs just want to be able to murder babies and molest children!”

I was raised Lutheran and went to a Jesuit university (Hoya Saxa!) — we had the “Jes res” on campus and I had several Jesuit priests as professors. All of that is to say that I went way further left because of college as well because the values that were instilled from the Jesuit tradition are very... socialist. :)

For the sake of all that’s profitably exploitive, don’t tell any US evangelical that OG Rabbi Ieshua Bin’ Yusef was into to healing the poor (without money), feeding the masses, and organizing his followers to live in a feed-everybody soshulist commune.

Same. I have a normal 8-5 job, but damned if I can get to bed before midnight. I give myself a pat on the back if I manage to make it into bed by 11:45, since most days it’s closer 1 am than 12 when I actually shut off the lights. Even beyond 1am isn’t that unusual for me. If I’m in bed before 10, there’s likely

9 p.m. is the fulcrum point, a time that is neither early nor late. It’s crawl-in-bed and play-on-phone time for me. Now 10 p.m., that’s the true early/late time, at least for me. My roomie is usually in bed and asleep by 8 p.m., so 9 p.m. is late for her.

Most of the time it’s neither. It’s the glass half-full/empty of times, especially in the Central time zone. It’s not too late to start and finish a movie on a work night and still get a good night’s sleep. You can watch a good chunk of a west coast baseball game and not feel bad.

It’s early for me. I don’t go out starting at 9 these days (who goes out at allll in 2020?), but I’m not washing my face and getting my pajamas on either... I'm usually up til midnight. Mr. Jackal, however, is within his “ I may fall asleep reading/watching this” window.

You misunderstand. Goldman pays her obscene amounts of cash to be married to a man who votes on things like bank bailouts.

The same kind they’ve always had: sponsored by Goldman Sachs.

The Ivy League is hard to get into (unless your family greases the chute). Once you’re there? I’ve heard from more than one alum that they’re no tougher than any other school, and may actually be easier for the kind of smooth-talking sociopaths that ultimately go into politics.

I can’t remember the guy’s name but there is some comedian who was a guest on a podcast I listen to who was ted Cruz’s dorm roommate in college. He said they had a floor wide, semester long poker game that ted was a part of. Apparently he was not great at poker because he racked up a bunch of debts to his floor mates

people can be smart and also have zero morals. I think that about covers it.

I absolutely laughed out loud when Cuomo brought up Cruz being a master debater as a way to be dismissive of him. It also hits on something I continue confused on as it is a big part of Cruz’s backstory, along with being that top law student, yet he is really bad in any kind of debate or argumentative interaction. He

There are plenty of really intelligent people are also just asshats. The one does not preclude the other. I’m guessing Ted was an obnoxious, precocious kid who grew into a dick of a teen and as a fully formed adult is just a real piece of shit.  Someday we will discover there is a gene for this.

Some humans are probably concerned about Trump’s blasé attitude about the needless majority ’of 204K’s COVID-19-related deaths, especially during an election year.

I never really liked Cuomo as a host before but I really do enjoy this post-COVID infection version of Cuomo who has absolutely no fucks to give and doesn’t really both sides it any more.

I think the issue with Teigen and Legend in particular is that their trolls are extremely virulent Q-anon supporters who have accused the couple of pedophilia and are using this miscarriage as proof that they -- i don’t know, what is the current Q-anon view? Eat babies? Drink their blood? Anyway, that. And it’s

Tiegen had been posting regularly about their journey with this pregnancy from the beginning. I can imagine that, having had the pregnancy end in this way, she would want to get out in front of the story and post it herself.

I’m not one of the Chrissy superfans, but I think it’s super brave and loving of her to post openly about this when it’s still such a stigmatized subject. October is pregnancy & infant loss awareness month, and many of the replies to Chrissy on Twitter do a great job of illustrating why we need to be having these

This is a very slippery slope, my friend.
