Rise of the Planet of the Apes was pretty fun. But as a Bay Area resident, I kept being distracted by the absurd and hilarious geographical errors. The distance the apes travel in the film is absurd as none of those areas are at all near each other. And the Golden Gate Bridge is certainly not visible from San Bruno or

Cook appearance
Did anybody else think Dane Cook looked really strung out and tired? Especially around the eyes. I think the guy partied too hard the last couple of years or something.

last year? June was a year ago?

Nice Job
Nice Job, Sam Adams. This was an articulate, well-reasoned and thought-provoking article. I shall pass it along.

Koh is my favorite one-off character in the whole show. Man, I wish he had come back.

@miller Todd Smells… oh, I already knew that.

Yeah, I meant that about the other shows, which were prematurely cancelled, though I suppose one could argue that Arrested Development ended where it should have.

Why Movie?
I don't understand why these showrunners think that their consistently low-rated, prematurely cancelled shows would work as films. What studio is going to want to pony up the cash for this? When has that ever even worked? The only example I can think of is Firefly and I don't recall Serenity being a

Lorca's pretty good. As far as gay poets are concerned, I'm going with W.H. Auden.

I watched Your Highness. How could a movie with Danny McBride, Natalie Portman's ass and Zooey Deschanel's ample cleavage be that uninteresting? It just wasn't funny.

What's with the shoddy effects?
man, those planes look awfully CGI-y. Yeah, I can see Lucas' involvement all over this thing.

Doug's backstory was amazing.

yeah, I thought this episode was an instant classic. And coming on the heels of what I think might be the worst episode in the series. Restored my briefly shaken faith in the show.
It was definitely ridiculous, but come on, this is Futurama. They've gone plenty of absurd places before.

The Girl who Leapt through Time. It was cute and breezy in the first half, but became convoluted and tedious in the second half. Fun animation though.

The CDC arc was such a huge misstep. Hopefully the characters can just pretend along with me that that whole thing never happened. Hardly makes a difference.
And they NEED to kill off Shane. Really don't like that actor or character.

I would argue that excessive smoking is far easier, far more fun, and far more effective, at least where I live in California. I guess my body just doesn't really handle much alcohol very well anymore. But weed always goes down smooth.

I like living on the Peninsula. Close enough to SF, but without any of the grit. And it's generally really pretty here. Except for East Palo Alto. Also The South Bay is not nearly as bad as this thread makes it seem. It's certainly suburban, but that in and of itself is not really enough to condemn it.

Duh, Stay Out of Riverdale!
Actually the "real" Riverdale is Riverdale, NY in the Bronx, where I went to highschool. It's a very upscale and expensive area to live, the only really nice part of the Bronx I'm aware of. Anyway the creator of Archie Comics is a fellow alum and apparently modeled Mr. Weatherby after a
