I watched Tree of Life and it was amazing. Without a doubt the best thing I've seen all year, though one of my friends thought it was the most boring thing he'd ever seen.

AJ
The Carmela stuff is heartbreaking in this episode but my favorite scene is the conversation between AJ and Meadow in his room where he ends it by farting and saying, "conversation over." It's hilarious.

I think it's totally unfair to place so much of the onus for what happened to Bobby on Janice as everybody seems to. Sure, she was part of it, but Bobby was in the Mafia. Tony is much more responsible than Janice if we're going to start blaming secondary parties.

I agree with forget_it_jake about wanting to protect a newcomers experience. I hate to spoil things for people even when they really want me to spoil things for them.
Also, I can never really buy the statue-of-limitations thing about Spoilers. There are some twists that are engrained in pop culture sure, like Darth

I read that scene differently. I didn't see it so much as that Tony is calling her out on her bullshit, but that he is clearly envious of another Soprano being able to change, something he is never going to be able to do. I'm not saying that Janice became a totally different person, but she was certainly trying. It

The dream sequence with the shadowy figure at the top of the stairs always gives me chills. Pretty sure I watched it alone the first time and it freaked me out. It's shot really well.

Also Hawaii Five Ho, in that particular dinner scene, it has always seemed to me that Tony is the one who comes across as loathsome, not Janice.

I'm with Just This Guy. Good call on her drive to change. My opinion on Janice has changed quite a bit on this rewatch. I don't find her nearly as abhorrent as I used to. I think despite her manipulative nature, she's actually pretty sincere most of the time.

"It's a weakness of the show, especially early on, that the Fire Nation seems to produce nothing but sociopaths, stormtroopers, and damaged princes guided by avuncular uncles. It's unclear whether this was a strategy from the beginning to show the devastating effects of propaganda or whether the show became more

Plus, The very end of Cave of Two Lovers is important to the plot.

shrug
so it's essentially a gameboy that acts as a controller? doesn't seem like a big stride.

Monster of the Week
There are very few monster-of-the-week type episodes in the program (outside of the Great Divide, I have a hard time thinking of other ones). There are episodes that seem like they don't advance the plot, but they serve the essential function of introducing us to characters that will matter a ton

The Pacific
The Pacific was merely fine. Some excellent cinematography and battle scenes, but it didn't really hold together as a narrative.

I see no good reason to hate Megan Fox for being a bad actress. Tons of actresses are awful. I'm pro-Megan Fox. She's fun to look at.

But Megan Fox isn't claiming that. Shia LaBoef is.

sure. my quibble isn't with the grade really. The review just reads like it's one of the weaker ones of the season when I think it's one of the strongest.

A beautiful woman
and a terrible actress. Singlehandedly ruined the X-Men franchise for me way before Brett Ratner had anything to do with it. Ok, I still like 2 mostly. And her performance in Monsters Ball was overpraised.
As were her tits in Swordfish.

mmmm, pistol whip ::drool::

alias what now?
I know I liked Alias when I watched it, at least the first couple of seasons before it became so convoluted I had no idea what anything in the mythology of the show meant, but for the life of me, I can barely remember anything about the plot of the show. Perhaps this is not a unique experience and the

Nah, it's at least an A-
You really underrate this episode, Todd. Almost gave it a B! It's probably my favorite in season 4 and is certainly one of the best episodes for Christopher in the series. The intervention scene is hilarious and highly quotable, but the best scene in the episode is the conversation in the
