This would be absolutely fantastic if it turns out to be true, but the MCU, like the comics back in the day, has a “house style” and Edgar Wright, Patty Jenkins, and to a much lesser extent Joss Whedon all clashed with it. I’m not sure Duvernay would mesh well. Hopefully they work something out.

He seems more interested in rolling out the standard fatalist hipster narrative about superhero movies than in promoting a better portrayal of Black Widow. Any argument that basically accepts that Feige and crew can keep the boys club running because that is the way it is is a no go for me. Also this asshat said

Every article about the MCU must point out its impending doom. It’s a law I think.

I think in the MCU its more about oversight of powered people than secret identities. Daredevil and I’m guessing Spider-Man are the only two heroes with secret identities that will be active when Civil War comes around. Not really cause for global outrage.

I think it looks worse than it is. The focus will be on Cap and Iron Man, with everybody in the background. People like Ross may have a bigger role putting the registration or whatever they are going to call it in place. I think everybody is present for some big hero on hero violence later in the movie.

Only Ollie is listed as being on Flash. And Barry can run to Nanda Parbat and get Ollie and bring him to Central City in a matter of minutes. I’m guessing that’s how they deal with making events link up.

My wish list:

Finally, Marvel has found their Hercules!

Careful, Obummer and his ISIS Decepticon Socialist Army might read your brave comments and send feminazi mind control waves at you.

Pretty much everything you could ask for in a sporting event. Hopefully Chris Paul will be ready to go against the Rockets because it would be a damn shame for the Clippers to go against Houston shorthanded after this.

I don’t want to sound like I’m coming after the guy or anything, because I think Trank is really talented, but I don’t think he was ever a good fit for the big studio stuff. I think he sees himself as more of an auteur and that is not going to fly with Disney. I really think both Trank and Lucasfilm are better going

I agree. Everything ends, that’s a given. But right now it is amazing what they are doing. I know people like to be cynical and have more than enough reason to be, plus Hollywood is always going to be a skeevy place at the best of times. But whatever you think of the content, this is one of the most impressive

I wish I could say something critical and intelligent sounding(first time for everything), but honestly watching the movie just filled me with an immense joy and it was just so much fun. Everything worked for me, and as someone who loves connections to the larger MCU, I would have been cool with more. To me, all the

I demand that they scrap the superhero team-up spinoff in favor of a talk show focusing on parenting co-hosted by Joe West and Ra’s al Ghul with Malcolm Merlyn as the field reporter. I feel they could teach people a lot.

I agree, that’s why I think it will mostly work. I think they will end up with maybe a slightly lower hit to flop ratio as Fox but without the messy continuity. I’m really pulling for DC, because I love the characters, but I don’t believe in WB, at least not in the people in charge of the movies.

WB is a big lumbering beast that basically thinks they can get Marvel money by just sticking their heroes in movies with Batman. It will probably still work, but I can’t see more than a couple of these movies being decent. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Batman v Superman underperforms and the whole thing gets

That is another thing that gets me. Because I have a problem with them turning her face into hamburger all of the sudden I want her to go unpunished and maybe given the key to the city and a million dollars. Like her getting her face crushed and being allowed to beat the cop to death are the only two options.

And that’s the problem. People need their neat narrative. The victim has to be the right kind of innocent and then match the political leanings of the beholder to earn sympathy, forget about justice. As horrible as she was, she did nothing to deserve having her face smashed to shit. The police deal with criminals,

You’re just not tough enough to understand the real world. The bones in her face presented a clear and present danger to that officer’s life.

But how does this fit my special snowflake genius reasoning, that their can only be one true take on who the Joker is and nobody else can see it but me? How does your pointing out that the character has changed and evolved over decades and taken many different forms help me prove that I’m smarter than everyone else
