Local grocery stores where I am have banned reusable bags for now. We have a number of the nonwoven bags that are cheap -- most of them we got for free.. I never feel like those hold up to repeated washing. I also have some woven nylon bags that I bought and those are super strong and washable.

It depends on how it’s set up, and every school district is doing their own thing. Age and other factors also play into how involved parents need to be. In districts where tech and internet aren’t a given, schools are basically just giving parents packets to work through with their kids.

I honestly think as this drags on, people should form temporary families to.deal with the loneliness. If the people teaming up been isolating, this should be low risk, but could have huge mental health benefits.

So my husband and have been sheltering. And our car has been sitting. We know from experience that sitting for weeks on end is not good for a car. Am I not allowed to go drive it on the highway for 30 minutes just to make sure the oil circulates? If I don’t get out till I get back to my garage and I keep the AC on

My 10 year old has been really close with last year’s teacher. He and a couple other kids often have lunch with her one day a week. She called us the first week school cancelled to see how he was doing and because she missed him. I let them be Messenger Kids friends.

My family is in pretty much the same boat, except my husband teaches half time in a large school district that doesn’t have it’s act together yet. For now, his responsibilities are minimal and flexible. In a couple weeks, we have to manage the kids school work in along with more formal and scheduled sessions for DH.

We are all grieving. Anger is one of the phases.

I often defrost in salt water, now I'm wondering how vinegar marinading compares to brining.

Meh, my husband and I are landlords and we are nowhere near rich. We still own our former house (a house is a residential building, right?). It was a combination of things: The market wasn’t great in that area when we moved closer to work, we might actually like to move back to that house if it ever becomes feasible,

I would like to give a shout out to Dell, maker of my employer issued laptop, for having the bright idea to place the webcam at the bottom of my screen. Not only is it an awful angle, but it adds the distraction of my knuckles as my hands rest on the keyboard.

Parable of the Sower was a hard book for me to read. I almost DNF. I don’t think I could have handled it in the middle of an actual emergency.

BOTW is my favorite post apocalypse. Even before the quarentine, at the end of a hard day, I really enjoy watching a sunset over Hyrule.

Aren’t we supposed to rub Windex on something?

I flew back home last night and was shocked by the number of over 60s in the airport. People on portable oxygen. Old people in wheelchairs that just looked unwell. Maybe they had to fly, I don’t know. I do know that I’m trying my best to contain two elementary school age extroverts and its hard when we seem to care

Honestly, I think the excuses about how hard it is to figure out how to vote or obtain an absentee ballot are really lame. Like are these really functional adults? Did their helicopter parents so badly inhibit their ability to look stuff up and figure shit out? Yes, bureaucracy sucks. Do what you gotta do. But what do

100% Argan oil.

As family sizes continue to drop, this will be worse for each generation.

I’ve really been enjoying 100% Argan oil on my driest spots. I also like Gold Bond Softening.

I came here to comment, “You can’t balance. It’s just exhausting and you’ll always be guilty.” My mom and her husband chose an assisted living just 40 minutes from us. But that 40 minute commute meant that we had to find at least a 3 hour free window to visit. And visit we must. Her hearing was too bad to hold a
