The new car market hasn't supported growth with GM's eight brands for years. The brand structure was outdated and uncompetitive nearly 20 years or more ago when the company started it's marketshare slide. With it brands should have been quietly phased out and the company made smaller to reflect it's place in the

I really think the Nova name should come back and replace the forgettable "new" Cobalt.

This car is begging for Detonator Yellow, Sublime, Plum Crazy and Panther Pink.

Daewoo?

I think the sedan should have been a Chevrolet as well, just as it is in every other country outside of Australia.

Naming this car El Camino would be as stupid as GM not selling it as a Chevrolet in the first place.

@BLS: That brand equity and loyalty just evaporated with red hot fuel prices.

This car flies in the face of all the mundane appliances polluting sites like this and our roads. It's one last glimmmer of excitement before we're relentlessly hammered with malaise, four cylinders, "green" this and that and generally removing the style, fun and excitement of actually enjoying cars again.

I love wild comparos like this.

The irony of not offering a manual across the G8 range is not only that Holden is already building this car with a manual on all powertrains, but it also destroy's Pontiac's "performance" image and manuals actually deliver better fuel economy in the real world than an automatic does.

Bumblebee is likely wearing SMS body parts. SMS is Saleen's new brand that will be offering their own twist on the Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro.

I'd rather pay to fill one of these up and enjoy it than any truck, SUV, crossover or bland appliance car.

It likely also has something to do with GM's dire cash situation. The company hasn't turned a profit in years and it's cash pile is shrinking fast.

When will they close GMC, they're Chevy truck clone, other gas-guzzling brand?

That's nice.

I could only take him somewhat on Loveline.

We already have Top Gear, why would we want to watch something like this?
