A lot of companies comp or reimburse people who work from home for their internet. My employer does not.

Yes it is, for a lot of people. I work from home, as do a handful of other people in my apartment complex. I have Centurylink, but if I was capped at 1TB, I could be screwed. I’m not sure I could make it month working from home on a TB, I’m honestly not sure. I do massive file transfers multiple times a day, so maybe

I’m at the age where most of my friends are starting new families and have stopped playing GTA, for any number of bran new family reasons, or maybe they got bored. Anyway, I stopped going in alone because I’m not used to playing with strangers and I rarely have a mic plugged in. On top of that, I’ve done every solo

This article and the linked studies are a good first step. Kids, however, learn so much from what they see their parents doing. It’s the things parents don’t give a second thought to which kids learn from. Kids see their parents battling with people on the roads, battling with people at the grocery store, battling

Thanks for the insight! I think it’s so odd - if we’re all there for the same thing, then why are the response rates so low?! Although I’ll admit as a man at least I don’t have to deal with the jackass men like women do. I think that would add to the demoralizing experience of it all.

That’s a fair point. It’s not as if men are kind to women on the internet (or real life, in a lot of cases), I couldn’t imagine being female on a dating site.

Yeah man, I hear you. I’ve often wondered what people are really looking for when they join a dating site. I sent my profile to my female friends to have them send to their girlfriends who didn’t know me. Each one came back and said very positive things. I followed the advice when creating my profile, posted pictures

After my last relationship, which was very long term, ended I realized I was at the age where meeting a good single woman in person was likely gone. I set up profiles on a couple sites. I read all the advice in the world and even asked female friends to send my profile to their girl friends who didn’t know me, to have

I desperately wanted to free roam Mafia 2, GTA style, but was disappointed by the constant call to action and lack of free roam activities. That said, it’s one of the most replayed games I have - it’s so good.

How so? It’s a Japanese motorcycle designation because I started Kinja’ing via Lanesplitter.

Wow how times have changed. 20 years ago my essentials in my backpack were:

Oh I gotcha. Yeah my previous employer implemented the same policy after a lawsuit.

My dad hit me with a switch when I was a kid when I deliberately disobeyed him and threw a toy block and my mom in a tantrum. I deserved it. I don’t hold it against him, at all. I don’t look back on it as some traumatic experience. I never did anything to warrant a whopping ever again after that, until maybe a couple

This reminds me of a situation that happened at my previous job, for some reason. A lady applied, was interviewed and when the hiring manager called her previous employment her previous manager disclosed she had a lot of no call no shows. So our hiring manager didn’t pursue it any further. Somehow a month later the

When I did hiring, I basically only called references to see if they were real. If they were not (which happened a lot) then I dismissed the resume. Why lie when any friend or previous co-worker will give you a reference? Other than that references always gave the same practiced responses. I let the interview do the

This is absolutely correct when providing an employment verification. When calling references you may ask a little more info, basically limited to the above article.

ROLF this is good, thank you!

Holy crap I loved these books when I was little. I loved the art, the stories, how they just felt scary. Goosebumps was a close 2nd.

I get this tactic seems to be successful. However, whenever someone does this to me, albeit salesperson, my boss/co-workers, etc. I instantly shut them down. There are not too many more annoying persuasion tactics out there than this and this one to me feels fake, rude, and bait-y.

It’s called taking the high road. People will express their opinions no matter what. If religion didn’t exist they’d use something else. Bickering with them will get everybody nowhere fast. Yes I realize the hypocrisy of my statement.
