Waiting for a Star to Fall

First off, I voted for Hillary and was happy to do so. I didn’t hold my nose, didn’t lament the loss of my morals, didn’t feel that I was doing anything beyond what was clearly right for the country. Bernie lost fair and square and I moved on like adults do.

My nephew Daryl just turned 16.  He has spent the past three years working during school and two jobs during the summer so that he could afford the eco-friendly car he wants, not the gas guzzler my brother was prepared to buy for him.  His friends speak in this strange new dialect where everything is “deadass,” but I

Ted Kaczynski - The Unabomer - was a conservative thought leader. This is right out of his playbook.

Kind of disagree here. While it does take some inconsiderate decision-making to build an empire like that, he is the one who coined the phrase “My secretary pays more in taxes than I do.”  That line is a keeper.

Her career at this point lives only on the fumes of her resistance to Trump in 2016, which I think we can all admit was pretty impressive. She took that social capital and spent it horribly since. I appreciate what she has done as a strong, independent woman in a male-dominated industry, but she really needs to start,

Is this Trump admitting he is well-versed in cover ups? Seems so. Did Mueller catch wind of this quote? I’m sure he did. Has Trump just given the grand jury enough evidence to indict him? Legally speaking, yes. Is this how we win? Implying we haven’t won already... we have.

Obama redefined what it means to be a Democrat.  Apologies if some of the old guard lost their seats.  They have been, and will continue to be, replaced by modern Democrats

Thank God for Joy Behar and Whoopie Goldberg.  Those two are moving mountains despite Trump’s ridicule.  Really strong and inspiring.

I’d like to see the gender breakdown here. Got a feeling that men buy into a whole lot more fake news than women.

This reminds me of a scene in Harry Potter.  You know the one.

Abe Lincoln was... dealt a bad hand? How? He was offered an easily winnable war that would cement his legacy as the guy who ended slavery even though he didn’t care about it as a moral issue but as an economic one.

Really unfair characterization.  Stop.

Yeah.  Her dad is worse and her boyfriends are much, much worse.  Have you met any of these young Trumpets?  I thought I knew what toxic masculinity was.  I was wrong.

Yeah, just more spooking the base to scare up some fresh votes. They know we’re going to take the House and the Senate. This is pretty much proof. And that means we should look ahead to 2020.

Her Facebook profile pic is of her in a confederate bikini holding a gun and a can of beer with a bunch of her Auburn sorority sisters. I literally cannot make her look any worse than she already does.

Sorry, and I agree. I feel like I stepped out of bounds here. I didn’t mean to, it’s just that I’ve noticed a huge surge in articles about real Native American women in the wake of Elizabeth’s DNA results. I agree she made a strategic error, but come on... it proved her truth as true.

I have family in GA that I know longer consider family. They voted for Trump, go to his rallies, buy everything he says hook, line, and sinker. But that’s not all, they regurgitate everything on Facebook to the point that I’ve had to adjust my settings so that I see them less. I didn’t confront them about any of this

Ok, Elizabeth Warren made a mistake by promoting her DNA test as forcefully as she did, but the constant drum of “Well here’s a real Native American woman” articles just seems like overkill.

Not all heroes wear capes.

How dare you say something like that.  You don’t know what I’ve been through, the ways I help others, what I stand for.  How absolutely dare you suggest something so twisted, so obscene.  I’m damn proud to stand for women’s rights, and if that makes you uncomfortable then just move along because we don’t need any
