You’re saying that because these words weren’t offensive to you. What happens when they are? What happens when they infringe on IP? What happens when they advertise direct competitors to an NFL sponsor.

The intent of the NFL rule makes sense. You obviously don’t want a bunch of guys scribbling personal messages on stuff and taking liberties with the uniform. I get why people are raising a fuss in this instance, but the rule is in place because there will undoubtedly be plenty of well meaning (and not so well meaning)…

The funny thing about the “James Harden is bad at defense” narrative is that, although it passes the eye test, it's really not supported by the numbers. He really does LOOK like an awful defender, but he was 3rd in the league in steals last year and 10th in defensive win shares.
