Your criticism would land better if it was based in reality.

And if you really think Ben “imagination is a gateway drug to Bolshevism” Shapiro made some valid points, fine, I’ll address them.
It’s also perfectly sound to not debate someone who believes the point of a debate is to “destroy” the other side, by any means necessary, and without first reflecting on whether their choice of hill to die on is correct on its own merits or relevant to the larger battle. That’s the sort of bullshit I despise from…
I’ll give Shapiro credit in that he’s one of the few right wing commentators I’ve ever actually heard criticize Trump, but most of the time he engages in the same strawman arguments or whataboutism as Tucker/Hannity/etc.
That fight would’ve had to last another nine episodes to be a real Dragon Ball fight.
Ben: “I WAS IN THE POOL!!!!”
Rocks and minerals and crystals are excellent ways to appreciate the glory of nature and the earth and geological processes and all that. But they do not have magical properties.
Did you miss me?
Yeah, I think there’s a big difference between being direct about what your expectations are in a quasi-party scenario vs. just... being a dick. I sort of think your Sr. VP is on the not-dick side of the line there, but without seeing it it’s unclear.
I would say it very well may be worse now. The racists in the 90s had kids and taught them to be racist too. And now they’re all agitated for made up reasons.
I’ve driven from Wisconsin to Montreal in an eight year old Fit with no A/C in the middle of July.
It wasn’t bad at all.
Conversely, Nebraska/eastern Colorado/Iowa are miserable.
You’d think that, but they smell difference beyond just not being white. For example, I did a road trip to Memphis with some fairly ordinary very white friends from a big northeast city. We didn’t get threatened, but we certainly got shitty looks and attitude from more people than I would expect. The church ladies out…
Depends on when you go to the gas station.
There’s a small BP right next to where I work. It’s one of those places where generally only locals stop - out-of-towners use the Speedway where the state routes intersect in the middle of town (pop. 3,100, southeast Ohio). I’m a very white male, beard, ball cap, and I look…
Yeah, it’s not the politics that crushes your soul on I-80 through Nebraska. It’s the endless succession of hills, trucks, and sameness. Now, when you come across from wyoming, it’s really hard: you come from spectacular big sky to six hours of slight hill, interstate, slight hill. It's sensory deprivation. The…
This part seemed especially clear to me, that they’re not talking about “actual flags” but replicas of the flag being sewn or printed on other things.
This would make sense if he hadn’t said the route down was great. He went through Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona on the way down, outside of the cities, not exactly hotbeds of Progressive values. He then said he started AVOIDING the Interstate on the way back. It sounds like overall,…
I do that damnable drive 1-3 times a year. (minnesota to colorado). It sucks so badly that Iowa means thing are getting better. Hours of monotonously passing big trucks while in a constant side wind. We have our go to airbnb houses one on each end of Neb. for there and back. I hate that drive so much.
Fun fact: that’s so not the case. It’s actually quite explicit about things like novelty items and clothing and the like, and the TLDR is “no”
The gas stations in Texas were without fuel for several days whether they had power or not. They continued to not have fuel for several days after the outages were over.
I love seeing these articles from people who don’t live here and didn’t actually live through the event. Not only do gas pumps not work when the power is out: Neither do the refineries that refine the oil into usable fuels... Plus it’s hard for trucks to deliver fuel to stations when the roads are covered with ice and…
