Wrong. First, turbulence has a definition in the A.I.M., along with “chop.” Second, a plane’s weather radar does not detect turbulence. It can detect water vapor and determine that the vapor is moving in such a way as to be turbulent, but if there is not water, then there is nothing to detect.
