Good for you, man. I did the same years ago and it has slowed promotions and raises at all since I changed. My mentor (an executive) encouraged me to do it. People can call me or text if it warrants my attention off hours.

Told my managers and directors the same. I don’t check email after I leave, if it’s important, text or call. Has not impacted my career in the least.

Recently deleted my work email from my personal phone. What a glorious move. We work so that we can live, not the other way around.

Having anything large injure a driver is so rare that it has happened only a handful of times in the last 50 years. Of them, the halo would have only helped a couple of them. It’s not really a solution to a problem they’re having.
