I loved Betty! I have an autographed poster of her - have always been disappointed Supercars didn’t come back. Attendance and promotion were dismal, though - I can’t really blame them.

I remember the costs for the single race being part of the equation now that mention it. IIRC, when they pulled out of Austin when they won the X Games, they had I believe Montreal also lined up before/after. I’d love to see the Aussies take on COTA and one of Montreal/Mid-Ohio/Indy/Laguna Seca.

The main reason the series cited was the expense of packing the whole show halfway around the world for one event. They’ve said if they could put together a 3-4 race package for North America they’d like to come back.

Wow. The weather is an externality, inasmuch as it can’t be influenced once the date of the event is set, but the restrictions placed on attendees are some serious bullshit. At least we have trees and shaded areas (shaded grandstands even), and you can take drinks and ice from outside the venue.
