Yep, it topped 100F easily. No shade. No umbrellas allowed on site. Bare aluminum seating that reflected the sun and heat into your face. No external water or drinks allowed. I vowed to never attend another event out there between May and October. Note: I broke that pledge and went to Lone Star LeMans in September

I love V8 Supercars more than most(I have a bumper off one in my living room) but anyone that was there knows they were a shitshow in Austin in May of 2013. It was hot as hell and there’s next to zero shade anywhere at CotA. They were rolling around coolers filled with icewater so people could dunk hats and shirts to

Shocking!

The OEM hardtop alone is worth $3-4K. They are like hensteeth. Throw in the coilovers and wheels and the price is in the right ballpark. It’s also in white, the most desired color apparently. Higher than I’d pay but not totally outrageous for a low miles S2K these days.

Someone knows their prewar luxury cars. :) Good eye.

Here’s a couple of her latest. A 1930 Cord and a ‘32 Auburn:

What timing. Just this past Saturday my wife was just commissioned to do a painting of a Muira SV. It was an award winner at Amelia Island on Sunday. Lime green, my favorite color. Second one from left in this pic.

Yet another response from a top-leaver-downer.

Done this in my Defender. Miles from nowhere I exploded a rear diff. Take out the driveshaft, lock the center diff, drive home 300 miles in 2WD/FWD. No problem.

Thanks! If she ends up using them as reference I’ll have her give you credit.

THAT’s what those were. We sat and stared and couldn’t figure it out. The front looked...familiar...but I couldn’t place that canopy. Makes total sense now.

Those K-Pax cars were beasts today. I love their sound. The wife kept trying to catch one in the sun so she could get some good reference photos for a painting but never lucked out. Next time.

I love mine. More smiles per mile than most anything I’ve owned. I can top 30MPG if I want, but that damned Sport Mode button is too much fun.

Same here. Lots of talent in Central Texas. Just not a lot of them running that class it seems. Either way, I never check my times. I’m just out to have fun. I had to go look up scoring for the last event as I had no idea where I finished when you asked. :)

Last time out I finished solidly in the middle of the GS times. FoSTs and GTIs above and below me. With some more work I believe I’ll jump up a few more places. I’ve only been out a couple times so I think I’m holding my own pretty well.

I stock trim GS is where it plays. It’s pretty competitive there and a lot of fun.

I’ve had a situation a lot like this happen to me. It’s tough as there’s no right way to handle a car approaching from the rear at super high speeds when it’s not expected. Do you try to move out of their way? Or do you assume they’ll deal with your presence on ‘their’ race track.

Here, have a pic of a pretty Thunderbird to cleanse your mind’s eye.

Give it the Polestar treatment and I’m all-in. AWD, more power, and a non-auto transmission. I’m not a ‘gotta be a manual’ type guy. I’d be happy with some sort of DSG system. Volvo, plz. Make this happen.

Does this count? It’s pretty scary.
