This. I hear people giving Bioshock 2 a lot of flak, and I've never really understood why. To me, Bioshock 2 was more enjoyable than Bioshock because I got to play as a Big Daddy, which took away some of the horror elements which I didn't really care about.

That's true in many cases, but it can be kind of frustrating to listen to classical pieces when the ppp parts are barely audible and the fff parts blow out my ear drums. I don't use a lot of the leveling, and I'm starting to get used to the volume differences, so I reduced the compression levels.

Puzzle Fighter's pretty cool. It's more like Puyo Puyo than Tetris, and with Street Fighter characters. Each character has a pattern of colours that they flood the enemy's field with, but there are balance issues because some patterns are easy for the enemy to use to build up big attacks (see the huge blocks of gems).

Newer Realtek soundcards have this "Dolby Home Theater" built-in. It can equalize volumes and also serve as a graphic EQ. I generally don't like bloatware, but I actually find this extremely useful.
