Plenty of fellow high schoolers around. Felt like most everyone important was a fellow high schooler, in fact (as reflected by the blinkered perceptions of the hs kids in Twin Peaks).

I grew up in a town of about 3000 and we had our own high school. So did the next town over in any direction, each about the same size.
