I worked on these cars last season, and they really are fantastic, and very well built. Dallara developed, giant carbon brakes, 7-speed Sadev gearbox, more power than grip, TC, ABS, Cosworth electronics, etc... a very friendly package. It’s a shame, but it was just far too expensive. For that kind of money you can do

Alanis- The Weekend Motorsport roundup is fantastic, myself and a lot of friends (lots of us trackside engineers in Europe) really enjoy it, any chance you could include European Le Mans Series? We have great races, great cars, great spectators and I believe it deserves the coverage.

Thanks for that, I’ll take it to heart. Best of luck with your season.

Huge congratulations on your win, it was a joy to watch. What do you think are the most important qualities to look for in a Race Engineer?

There’s a reason Jay didn’t say anything about French people...

Can’t seem to get the poor thing into 4th and the overrevs are painful...

Very nice. What an incredible event and I’m so glad I got to be there, and can’t wait to go back (maybe with the new cars instead of the oldies next time...), my only question is, will it ever be this good again?

The Cure on Jalopnik? Never thought I’d see the day.

Amen. Long live Jalopnik.

The one in the cover photo is a 1915 Duesenberg Indy Racer, which I know because I happen to be the ‘riding mechanic’ AKA human fuel pump....

Just try any vintage racecar.

Well said. This event deserves to remain as it is.

Now playing

No contest. Cosworth DFV and friends. Feast your ears (?)

There are 40+ very talented, now unemployed, engineers and mechanics who I’m sure would deeply appreciate your sentiments.

There was a block-off plate fitted to the rear wing mounts, steel brake discs instead of carbon, mufflers, and ballast.

No it also competed in the final French GT event of the season at Paul Ricard where it DNF’d.

Sounds to me like Nissan didn’t go through much trouble except for writing a big check.

Look closely...

Let's hope we don't have to prove its barrel rolling capabilities in real life...
