How on earth are the Niners going to go 3-6 at home in any season
Also, Sam Mills is dead now.
I had an eerily similar experience - cross country trip, just going through the Panhandle. I had no face time with anyone, it was the middle of the night, but I did have a Bernie Sanders sticker and some other lefty stuff on the back of my car, and a pick up came up and ran me off the road. Of course I’ll never know…
If you watched the rest of the game I don’t think you could say Wilkins’ spirit was depressed at all. Coaches yell at players when they make dumb penalties #42 knows Dabo was making an example out of him. If him or another player does the same thing and costs them 15 yards against Alabama, that could be the difference…
Exactly. There have been no unusual climate related catastrophes. Excuse me now while I go for a run in San Francisco in November and develop lung cancer.
They literally did.
Ben Boulware left after 2016, and Danny Ford’s wonder years were the early 80s. Great write up otherwise though!
Unrelated news: The RNC has received an extremely large and generous donation from Masai Ujiri with a note saying “Best wishes this November!”
This is a scrappy comment.
The Vixen is really breaking my heart this season. She has talked about being the political queen but we have gotten very little of that in the challenges or on the runway. It could be so different but instead she seems not on the same level as some of the other queens.
They were not the only EGOTs in attendance. You are missing Robert Lopez, who won his *second* Oscar tonight.
It seems like it depends on your fundamental reasons for cheering for your team. Most of the “blowout” crowd are saying “it makes me feel bad for cheering for them”, implying you cheer for them because you think they will win and not because you have a deeper loyalty. I’m not putting a value judgment on that, just…
You are correct, except the San Francisco 49ers play in Santa Clara, which is stupidly far from the city of San Francisco and much closer to San Jose (which is a larger city). It does not exactly work for the purposes of this exercise, but the only thing “San Francisco” about the team is that they are in the San…
I’ll give you Tampa Bay, but probably not the Giants/Jets since a) they don’t play in the state of New York and b) they are so often spoken about as NYC media teams (i.e., Brett Favre going to New York means the spotlight will really be on him!, etc.). A brief google search does not indicate if they were specifically…
There’s only five:
Two undefeated top ten teams lose on the road on a Friday night to unranked 3-3 teams. Were the undefeated teams overrated or is this a good argument against Friday games? Something else?
The highlight was really the last touchdown. He was determined to get one more score, knowing that it wouldn’t make a difference. If you go back and watch, you can see him taking total control, and of course it ends with him just running the 2 pt conversion in. To me it said “Yeah, this one is an L, but I’m here to…
I guess now that Clemson is good at football again I will have to get used to the assumption that it is a diploma mill, and not a top public university that just turned down the valedictorian at a local high school and has become one of the most competitive public schools in the country.
Counterpoint: Ohio State got in because they scheduled Oklahoma, and Clemson was a lock because they scheduled Auburn and South Carolina, whereas Washington had to sweat, so there is still clear incentive to schedule non conference opponents. Washington just got lucky in that everyone else kept losing.
