I feel like the general bad vibes surrounding the NFL are infecting the letter writers as well. You used to be able to say ‘I enjoy the NFL, too bad my team sucks” and still be happy. The NFL once offered joy, even if your team was bad.

Now, with all the injuries, racism, tax cheating owners, etc. the NFL forces…

I mean, they do get a decent number of people watching to make fun of them, and fact checkers from actual news sources. So like, maybe twenty Fox viewers at any given time aren’t racists.

It’s going to be tough to balance the OMG Immigrants narrative against the Heroic First Responders narrative.
