Le Morte d'Arthur is almost unreadable. If you want to get real weird with it, read "History of the Kings of Britain" by Geoffrey Monmouth, or better yet, the batshit insane Arthur stories from the Mabinogion. ("Culhwch and Olwen" in particular).
