The fact that he avoided the man, very purposefully, then went out of his way to shove the woman is a perfect microcosm of what society is like for women.

I run almost every day and have been shoulder checked a few times. It’s sent me off path a bit but hasn’t dropped me yet. They’re always assholes like this guy who run in the center of the path and then expect everyone else to move around them.

It definitely looks like he went out of his way to shove her. I was expecting something along the lines of a guy thoughtlessly bumping into a woman because he refused to slightly adjust his course to move around her, (which is an asshole move in it’s own right) but that’s not what this is at all.

My view, back when I was still running, was that the faster person always has the duty to avoid others. The runner is the one who is using the sidewalk for a non-standard use, and therefore needs to be the one to change course to avoid hitting/endangering those who are using the sidewalk for a standard use.

Forget what she’s doing. There’s plenty of room on the jogger’s left (I assume they keep left there even on sidewalks, like animals). It’s not even like he just kept going straight and ran into her. He took two or three steps to the right specifically to shove her.

Oh my god you’re right. It looks like he wanted to push her in traffic. Also, there was a man there right in front of her and he didn’t try to push him. It makes me wonder if this was a hit or maybe he is some sort of serial killer.

The thing they’re probably condemning is that you choose to forego the privilege of being ignorant in the face of such cruelty and the overwhelming evidence that confirms such cruelty.
