Even though “Ramones” made it to 111, it’s still a stretch to call it mainstream. I’m guessing all of their fans at that time bought it when it came out, and they promptly convinced NO ONE ELSE who was not a fan to buy it. And 20 years into their career, they were still looking for a hit.

They sure spent a lot of $$ licensing those early Led Zep songs. There’s a reason why you seldomly hear them outside of radio play.
