Sidenote: I love it when they bring in a disabled actor to play a character whose disability is not a focal point in any way, you know, like how we encounter people in real life. Remains a rarity to see that on tv, even if it is just a guest character.
what show are you watching?!?! this show is terrible and not much like the book
The show has definitely lulled after a fantastic start, like other HBO series. What was brilliant tension is becoming sooooooo drab. The pacing, the cinematography with its color palette and blurry establishing shots, the sets, the characters and even their wardrobes (except for Holly). After episode 1 I couldn’t…
I know your question was mostly rhetorical, but I actually expected Belichick would have been the anti-Brown voice. Not because of any particular moral virtue but because I expected his calculus would boil down to, “I’m a great coach who can win with anybody and I believe that the distraction caused by Brown would…
“aren’t most islands rather lush?”
I guess *maybe* that’s why they specifically say “desert island” and not “most islands”, eh?
What terminal illness would be so dire you need to make as much money as soon as possible but would leave you in good enough physical condition to play The Most Dangerous Game?
I will never understand why anyone thinks Ben Affleck was anywhere near satisfactory as Batman. Ever. You could explain it to me all day (please don’t) and I still wouldn’t get it. He wasn’t Batman. He wasn’t Bruce Wayne. He was either Ben Affeck In A Batman Suit, or he was Ben Affleck Scowling With Some Grey Shit In…
Arya is now the Day King, master of karate and friendship for everyone.
Bold choice to film the episode entirely in black and darker black.
It’s not uncommon for teams within a division to be relatively close to each other on these strength of schedule predictions because of the preset schedule cycle.
I’ve been riding the Virginia bandwagon hard since they lost to UMBC and thus am incapable of seeing these plays with any sense of objectivity, but I did want to add one thing: right before Jerome lost the ball and picked it back up, Brown reaches out and fouls Jerome once. It’s a touch foul, but a foul (it also helps…
Marc: “Joker, did you used to hate me?”
Marc Maron plays a detective hunting down the Joker in a quest to hear his story about the time he met Lorne.
Am I alone in thinking that the accent was intentionally bad as part of the over-the-top-ness of the character? Don’t they even joke about it a couple of times? (Admittedly, those jokes could’ve come in response to the viewer reaction.) It seems like anyone does a Boston accent they do an exaggerated version of it.
You may not have liked the joke, but it remained a joke for her entire arc.
But that accent was part of the joke.
Suspicious... The McGriddle was introduced in 2003. I was a married. mortgaged adult by this point. For the entire duration of my consciousness, a double cheeseburger has been wrapped in a slightly waxed paper. Including yesterday when I ate one. The grease doesn’t soak through that wrapper, but it does get…
