Bowie’s one-line backup vocal on Iggy Pop’s “The Passenger” is one of my favorite moments in pop music history. (Bowie harmonizes the chorus “la la las,” but otherwise only joins in for one repetition of “bright and hollow sky”. Just a brilliant weird minimal production choice.)
