Religion is the Opiate of the Masses. Marx

Believing in unprovable fairy tales is a problem when you are then confronted with facts you choose to disbelieve.

Religion within itself is not necessarily a poison, but organized religion definitely is.

Right?! How about christian invocations at all military change of command ceremonies, no matter what audience members (who are told/forced to be there) do or do not believe. Needing religious affiliation to succeed in an election, in a country that espouses separation of church and state, is ridiculous. Yet here we

And a huge money grab.

Tax exemption should be taken away from all churches.  They are in the business of selling their religion, and it is a business.

A poison.. that comes with a great tax break, special breaks at work and school, and big helpings of good ol’ cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy.

Religion is seriously a poison on humanity.

the image really distorts the issue. lewis had the inside line and didn’t back off, max went into the corner way deeper and thus surged ahead and then moved over more or less expecting lewis to have lifted - which he didn’t. thing is, max had made some pretty aggressive moves right prior to this and got away with it -

Wanna know how I know Max was in front of Lewis?

Point of contact. Max’s corner. Lewis should have backed out.

This is still the straight, not the corner. Yes, I want to say he wasn’t alongside him (alongside doesn’t even matter, have to be ahead and Lewis clearly isn’t, even in this shot, even if by six inches), because 50 ft before the apex is NOT the apex. And Max didn’t clip anyone. Lewis did.

I fully recognize I may not be the objective one here as I might have felt quite differently if the shoe was on the other foot, but - there’s something deeply fucked up about pushing your opponent off the racetrack (Hamilton was NEVER alongside Max into Copse) and then being allowed to win the race anyways.

Exactly. This take assumes that all fasteners are going to be beautiful and stylized in contrasting metal. Which, unless you’re in a high-end car, it won’t be. It will be a galvanized screw that will fill up with crude and dust over the years and be impossible to clean.

This isn’t hard. Stop being contrary.

Sure, but would you really want to pay for the engineering time to not only develop a solution that is good enough, but one that is good enough while also being visually appealing? Or would you rather make it good enough and just throw a 10 cent cover over the top to make the aesthetic a non-issue?

When i was 19 i had a jeep with that steering wheel, the one with all the fake hex bolts. The horn didnt work, so i thought to repair it i had to undo all of those hex bolts. went and bought a hex wrench set and everything - man was i pissed.

Technically, only the 24 Apollo Astronauts have ever been outside of the Earth’s magnetosphere, which means they were technically completely out of the Earth’s atmosphere into “Space.”

If we are being pedantic, even Low Earth Orbit could arguably be called “not really space” since there is enough atmosphere to cause drag.

We can quibble over scientific terms, as to what defines “space” and the various layers, but all I know is that sonofabitch was broadcasting a video while we could see the curvature of the big blue marble in the background.

If I put my feet in the ocean for two minutes, I can say I’ve touched the water, even if I didn’t go swimming. If Branson’s altitude was enough for NASA to consider it going to space, it’s space to me as well.
