It never seizes to amaze me

That’s an alpha male raptor owner right there. I imagine, if he’s anything like the raptor drivers around here, he was some kind of local football hero 20 years and 50 pounds ago, according to himself.

Pain doesn’t have to be physical. You ever wake up next to someone you wish you didn’t?

We’re wired that way, otherwise sex wouldn’t work.

Well, I am honestly impressed with his candor and admission that there’s no one to blame but himself. Here’s to good healing.

I loathe when people want to race.

You do realize that no Viper ever built has more weight on the front than the rear? They are all rear bias as far as weight, some more than others. The rt-10 like in the video should be around 51% of static weight on the rear. The hardtop GTS models were close to 54% rear bias.  Fun fact the giant engine sits entirely

Death isn’t nearly the worst outcome. You could have lost to the Integra.

Tarted up old Hondas, the car of choice for adolescent shitbirds since 1984.

I was at a drag strip about 10 years ago and a Boomer aged guy had a brand new Mustang. He launched it out of the hole and immediately lost traction. He never let off the gas and he proceeded to drift to the right and 360 down the right wall and bang every body panel off of those walls.

Yup. In the mid 00's I had a GTI that ran low 12's. My buddy loved driving around cruise nights with me and would alway try and start shit with people. ‘But it would be so funny to beat that Mustang!’ ... For what? I built my car because I like going fast. If I win? Cool. I have $8000 into the motor/turbo/transmission

A few more years of ubiquitous unimaginative 2.0Ts and soulless hybrids and the great masses of the people will rise up, saying “MAKE ENGINES BIG AGAIN” and we will give the people what they want.

I’ve never understood how people seem to loose control of cars so often in races like these. If the back end lights up, just let off the gas, it’s pretty much that easy. You aren’t going fast enough by then for it to snap that bad. I daily drive a gen 3 with ~600hp and have never had anything like this happen to me.

Exactly. The second you decide to race an Integra in your Viper, you’ve already lost. Because even if you win... well, congratulations your 8.4 L V10 managed to beat a 2.0 L 4 cylinder Japanese tuner car.

It is a shame when a Viper gets wrecked, because we know a car like that will never be made again. Especially not like the 1st generation that was the car equivalent of a gun with a broken safety. It’s too raw and unrestrained for our modern world.

Yep.  My car is somewhat quick, but I quickly realized that there is no benefit to racing anyone on the street.  The best possible outcome is you prove what everyone already knows or expects, that your car is faster/slower than the other.  There are numerous bad outcomes, including arrest, crashing, the other guy

For fuxsake, Dennis. Did you really feel it necessary to race a clapped out Integra?

Admit it. You’re secretly happy because the value of your Viper goes up every time some ass hat does this.

Everyone already knows you’re a badass, you’re driving a Viper!

Another journalist dumped the whole car into a ditch, earning it a brand-new front end and those are the just the spills we know about on the final wave of journalists.
