I mean the founder of the company had no problem selling vehicles to Nazis
Just to add: while it may technically be true in a certain sense of the word, describing Ineos as a “startup” is kind of misleading. It’s a company that’s 20 years old, and has over £85bn annual revenue. It’s a conglomerate that makes or manages white goods, food packaging, financial products, textiles, oil pipelines,…
Nah, let em build it in France. Change the color name from “Concord grape” to “conquered grape”
Sounds like a response my 4 year old would come up with.
They had a separate blog for politics, and then it got killed because when you ask these people to write about politics it’s bad. And not the funny kind of bad, the kind of bad that makes you question the author’s intelligence and makes them lose credibility on all subjects, not just politics.
I completely agree, this is supposed to be about cars and driving them....Lately it is nothing but weenies going full political and then also whining when someone drives fast to break the Cannonball Run record....Jalopnik should stick to cars and grow a pair.
Agree
Although I am surely not the first to comment about this... There is a place on Kinja for political spin and bias, and it isn’t Jalopnik. I had a conversation over the weekend with 4 friends who are all car guys, and we all agreed that the content on Jalopnik is straying further and further from what we want to read.…
The truck criticism was less about 1st Gear in particular and more about the overall tone Jalop uses when addressing the subject. They can’t resist endless owner stereotypes and political potshots, coupled with shots at the manufacturers who make them; they even slip a couple in 2nd Gear today. It’s like a right wing…
I don’t own a truck. Never have. Just getting frustrated with the increasingly myopic stuff going on here.
No space for a proper photo of the Silverado, but you can have not one but two autoplay crapshoots in every. single. article?
Because there are more and more like-minded thinkers to them everyday, so maybe they’re just trying to shift this whole site to anti-truck, anti-Big Three by pandering to the ‘new order’?
The Gawk ... I mean, the Gizm... whatever they are now writers agenda against GM has everything to do with unions. Anything they say about GM I just
I’m convinced its as simple as trucks don’t make sense in Brooklyn (to them) so they don’t make sense anywhere.
This. All this.
1st Gear: We get it. Jalopnik hates the current Silverado, hates big pickup trucks, doesn’t much like the people who buy them, and doesn’t like US automakers either.
Wait are we really not going to use this opportunity to address that the abortion rate is far greater in the black community. Isn’t that what this movement is all about. Addressing systemic inequalities. Blacks are totally targeted for abortions and the numbers prove it.
The 2020 VW Harlequin Golf.
“Wallace himself is still furious about the situation, as we all should be, making the excellent point that there was still a fucking noose hanging in a NASCAR garage stall for nine months before anybody thought there was anything weird about it.” Justin, come on man, there was no damn noose - just a garage rope with…
