I went ahead and cut together the cutscenes from the Beta, if you're curious and want to watch them. (They contain some spoilers, I suppose, though it's not clear how close the beginning of the Beta is to the beginning of the actual game.) The music that plays during the cinematic sequences is uniformly terrific,

I like this track in particular, an anthem that gets so epic it almost makes me laugh—it's like The West Wing meets John Williams. It's somehow even better with the low rumble of my ship idling in the background.

Pretty sure ARR will be high up on the rankings. The server I play on continuously has a high user pop, and I've not heard a lot of complains about empty servers. I think the game is doing a lot better than expected.

STAT | $1.04 billion – Amount of revenue World of Warcraft made in 2013 worldwide, making it the #1 MMO; Lineage 1 was #2, TERA: Online was #3, and EA's Star Wars: The Old Republic was #4 with $165 million in revenue.

We all probably have stories from high school or college where consent got tricky, muddled, confusing. Like that time you started making out with someone and you weren't sure if you should take it further, but the other person was going along with it so maybe it's okay—and the next time you see each other everything

I never really thought about it. When you do, though, you realize that the 20xx crew was full of theoretically immortal robots. For them to be absent is incredibly conspicuous, especially when you stop to consider that Dr. Wily still managed to have influence in the future..

You want to see some bad writing, play King's Bounty.

You can get those mods, but even on the highest-end PCs it is unplayable like that.

Ah, you're right. I just brushed up on my Mega Man lore, and indeed X was around 100 years after the original Mega Man. Makes you wonder what ultimately happened to Rock in the intervening period though.

To put it simply: Don't waste finite resources on rendering/animating something that won't ever be seen.

I've read that Rock and X are actually the same robot in two radically different time periods.

I wish Temkin invited people to have frank discussions about how difficult it can be to get consent completely right. I wish it spent more time talking about how we all probably have stories from high school or college where consent got tricky, muddled, confusing.

Like that time you started making out with someone and you weren't sure if you should take it further, but the other person was going along with it so maybe it's okay—and the next time you see each other everything is awkward and it dawns on you that maybe you read it all wrong. Or that time you found yourself doing

Right, so it's OK to ruin however many people fit into that 2-8% though? Just say 'fuck em' and assume every man accused of rape is guilty, just to avoid possibly 'ruining' some woman's life? Are you forgetting that in those 2-8%, it's the woman ruining the man's life with a false accusation, and not the other way

No, absolutely not. If a guy is making out with a girl, it's all hot and heavy, and he reaches out to touch her breast, it is NOT automatically sexual assault just because she's not okay with it. If she stops, tells him not to do it, and yet he persists... THEN you have sexual assault.

They could have saved the Vita in the US by releasing the PS4/Vita bundle in the US.. you know, like the one they're releasing in Europe.

Fucking quickscoping. I quit CS back pre 1.6 because of that BS. It's so stupid.

Err, they sorta did this with Colonial Marines, giving away Aliens movie characters in a pre-order DLC.

Nah, I'm done with you. There's no point. They aren't right with their belief that The Daily Show is magic unbiased news, but you're not right with your facts that are saying Fox News isn't biased either.

Bah, sorry to hear that you're unemployed. :( Cheers, mate.
