I am very glad that Canada is pulling out. It does not meet the operational requirements for deployment in the arctic, which Canada has a lot of. The largest deficiency is that the F-35 has a single jet engine, for arctic/remote deployment, two is really necessary.

I’m flying into DC for work on Sunday, hopefully. Thus far there are no talks of postponing the trip ... sigh ...

When it rains, it pours

I love this! My kids love The Magic School Bus, all of the episodes are on Netflix.

I came here to say this, it is not at all rare. I have seen it while flying, while looking into fog from the tops of mountains, I’ve even somewhat frequently seen it as rings around the sun.

Up on the West Coast of BC we had three big wind/rain storms in a row in early Dec. There were some significant power outages dues to downed trees, and a lot of water everywhere.

No thanks, I don’t run, too hard on the knees.

I agree. I also find that reporting world wide revenue to be deceptive as, even just 10 years ago, movie releases were much more staggered by region. It might open in N.A. and not be in theatres in S.A. for 3-6 months.

Just a few months ago I just about go run over in this type of situation, fortunately the car saw me and stopped ... with less than a meter to spare.

For the last two years I have been making my own apple sauce from the apples that grow in our yard. Homemade is so much thicker, if feel hearty and never needs extra sugar.

Both my family and my wife’s family have started doing name draws for all the adults involved. This means you buy one gift for one person, and you get one gift. This allows the giver to spend a bit more and get something that the receiver really wants.

Wow, you must have been playing against some clueless people, or your memory is incorrect. The second play can ALWAYS force a draw if they know what they are doing.

I used one of these for a few years, but when the battery pack went, any replacements I got didn’t have anywhere near their spec’d capacity.

I am happy you said this. I have an Edge 500 and get 10+ hours on a charge, plus I don’t worry about it getting rained on.

A few years ago I had an ambulance ride, luckily it was covered by insurance (It was only $60 thanks to the subsidized health care here in Canada, but it was $60 I did not have to pay!)

I have found that my cycling Garmin (Edge 500) will report having traveled farther when riding substantially faster. The biggest variance I have seen was an extra 200m over a 13.5 km ride.

My parents always had a rule that there was no TV Monday-Thursday while school was in session.

I drink my coffee as black as it can be made, the milk/cream and sugar ruin the flavor.

I got lucky and when to a trade school for 2 years, to get a Technology diploma. After that the school had a 6 month program, which if you passed, guaranteed you admission into the local University 3rd year Engineering. Best way to get an Engineering degree ever! Saved a lot on tuition, and learned all the practical

Oh great ... I am flying to DC on Monday for a week of work, all in the evenings, and was hoping to be able to walk around outside during the day without having to bring rain gear.
