@dufus: I think the nuclear plants on our carriers produce vastly more power than is actually needed for carrier operations, so I doubt there will be a brownout risk.

@gerrrg: I guess your solution to those poorer people in poorest nations must be to let them find their own aid, or die.
@Duc: Pay no attention to the man inside the head smock!
@gerrrg: You're correct that the poor are fat partially because the cheapest foods available are high in calories. However, they're not going to bed hungry like the real poor in many underdeveloped nations.
@Duc: Yeah, using one would probably increase the amount of distraction, what with people approaching you to ask about it, and the private fear that somebody's staring at you.

@battra92: A lot of people believe wealth is a finite substance, and that financial success is a zero-sum game. The fact that this is flatly untrue doesn't deter them from assuming the rich succeed at the poor's detriment.
@gerrrg: I object to the basic premise of income-based taxation. I believe in taxing consumption. It's easier and more fair...best of all, you can opt out by not buying stuff.
@gerrrg: Let's back off and look at a closer-to-home scenario.
@HunterShoptaw: How about we cut back on our bloated government and all keep our money?
@SquareWheel: Raising taxes doesn't always equal more income.
@gerrrg: Yes, screw Steinbrenner and all the wealth and jobs he created. Take his money and give it to the government! They'll spend it right!
