Yep. You just nailed it. The whole “changing economy” argument applies when we’re talking about workers stuck in dying industries: factory jobs, coal mining, etc. Yes, retraining someone, helping them look for work in a different industry is beneficial long term.

I don’t think she’s smart enough to pull a long con (or if she is, I struggle to see WTF the plan actually is). The worst part about this is that, if this advice was thought out, and was being delivered along with meaningful structural, procedural, and financial support, it would be great advice.

Has Ivanka - or anyone in that family, including Trump - ever had to actually write a resume and cover letter and submit a job application? And then actually sit down for several rounds of interviews?

Ivanka is totally her father’s daughter. Trump is fond of making remarks along the lines of “very few people know....” and then he proceeds to tell us something that everyone knows. It’s just that HE has become aware.

Or all the people feeling trapped and desperate should rise up and kill all the shitty rich people in power. The Trump Family seems like a pretty good start since they only exist to take up space.
