Let’s pretend for a second that Trump was indeed being sarcastic as he claims (NOTE: He was not and if you believe he was, you are dumb. End of story) who in the hell thinks being sarcastic during a daily press briefing during a pandemic is a good idea?

Honestly, I can’t think of another incident in North America that involved such diabolical planning and utter cold-blooded purpose. I think this will be characterized in future as unprecedented in scope and complexity.

Exactly, he’s trying to hedge his bets and play both sides here, with his long-term goal being to promote himself as the hero who saved America. Other than skimming whatever cash he can he has no other motives here, it’s 100% pure self-interest.
