Fallon & Corden were nominated? In the same category as Oliver and Seinfeld? What the fuck?

Oh for sure the 90s sucked. Remember Ellis’ hot garbage run on Stormwstch? What a pile of crap. Now Midnighter, that’s an amazing book.
Well KISS will never do a disco song!
You mistake quantity for quality. Saga would be the only book that I feel measures up to the top indie comics of the 90s.
Hmm...sorry you missed it. There were plenty of comic fandom wading through the dead Extreme Books to get to the incredible output by Dark Horse, Vertigo, etc. Check the TPB section of your local LCS or Barnes & Noble. You’ll find all the stuff from the 90s that paved the way for those books you listed to be…
Never said there wasn’t good books.
So who carries all these Image titles? In store? On the weekly racks?
Not sure how you came to that conclusion, but no. Again, the list you were speaking of? And another reminder, you only need 15 vs your promised 20.
Well Linda certainly LOOKS like she knows what she is doing. #mansplaining
Disagree. I’m going from my memory of how it was, but Vertigo would never have published Astro City in 1996 - would have been too traditional for them. They must have had at least 9 titles that retailers took risks on because it was DC (and they were good). Shade, Doom Patrol, Sandman, Hellblazer, Peacher, Death,…
Then do it. I’ll spot you five: Saga, Southern Basterds, the current Brubaker/Phillips comic, the current Grant Morrison comic, and Astro City.
It can be easy to wax nostalgic, and I may be guilty of it. But 2016 feels like for every Saga there is 3 Civil War: Convergence.
Sounds like you were reading the wrong books in the 90s. Indie comics were phenomenal in the 90s. Even Image had The Maxx and A Touch of Silver back in the 90s. Vertigo was at its creative apex & Dark Horse was using revenue from licensed comics and translated manga to continue to fund creator owned comics.
Thanks Drax! Nothing goes over your head does it?
Not wallowing, just observing that the diversity of comic books in 2016 pales in comparison to the diversity of comic books in 1996. To piggyback on the famous Warren Ellis quote, we are truly in the “books about nursing” era of comic books.
Um you’re saying I should buy the same comic twice - once in individual issues and once as a TPB - that was written 20 years ago?
Yeah, I remember ‘96. You could walk in a comic book store and pick up Sin City, Sandman, Hellblazer, and Preacher.
So public shaming is ok with you.
Because medical professionals see 80-85% of patients who are self-inflicting their own issues. Addiction is a huge issue and thanks to the War on Drugs!!! we have made dealing with addiction harder for all involved.
To be fair, Patrolman Joe doesn’t exactly have the authority to re-write drug policy. But he probably gets pretty pissed when he comes across a scene like this and thinks shaming those two fuck-offs in the front seat amount of anything positive.
