I’ve seen this movie 1000s of times and I’ve never thought to look at it critically. I just enjoy it so damn much. Well written piece that serves as a nice reminder of how much mystery this movie left on the table back in 1977.

It was the directing choices that lead to the cheapness of Glenn’s “fate.” If the camera had pulled back and shown Nicholas on top of Glenn, then cut to black, that would have been much more fair to the audience. Showing Glenn stuck in that situation would have created a different level of suspense without tricking…
This must not count for one of two reasons:
I think a lot of it has to do with the holders of movie rights - they caught on to MST3K being produced by Comedy Central and SciFi and made the negotiates more trouble then they were worth.
Thick McRunfast
Casino Royale is about 30-45 minutes too long. Never saw QOS. You nailed Skyfall in your description - over the top and forgettable.
Oh no...
Damn...
WHERE THE HELL IS MAX VON SYDOW?!?!?!
I’m thinking it’s Han Solo she is crying over. His death motivates Luke to get back into the fight after years in hiding.
I’ll wait for the end game because the Ghost crew is entertaining as hell, but it does feel like they were pulled into the Rebellion a little quickly. Season 1 really made the SW universe feel as big as I always thought it was.
Agreed about the Rule of Two - horrible idea. But if it is the central philosophy behind the Sith, it would be nice is someone actually stuck to it.
Well here we go! Last trailer, not necessarily as exciting as the second one, but I see why the studios are trying to sell to the mainstream on this one.
So far, Rey has felt the most “Star Wars” of all the characters. Granted, everyone else is shrouded in mystery including her, but something about the way she carries herself in the scenes. Really hoping she’s the main Skywalker hero. The Han role seems to be going to Finn and the Leia role is going to be Poe.
Tie Fighters are garbage. Now a TIE Interceptor...
They aged...surprisingly well.
Eh. The end of the day, Watchmen works best as a comic book. It’s fun to see creators try to pay homage to it, but you lose the impact when you take it out of the comic book.
As for Watchmen: The Series? We already had that.
I was right there with you after episode 1. I missed the point of the episode, unless the point was the British authority are totally incompetent. Maybe if it had been a more corrupt or smaller government, the story would have worked. But the ransom was so outlandish it was absurd.
Breweries that are ahead of the curve are naming their beers after Big Lebowski references.
