This is exactly right. People, actually mostly the media, are giving Google WAY too much credit. If you thing we’re going to have fully autonomous vehicles in the next 20 years you are going to be really disappointed. Even the most reliable OS crashes from time to time. Perhaps they could make the shells out of marshmallows. When marshmallows crash into other marshmallows, only good things can come of it.
I am confused. They dumb down and overweigh the cars to make sure that they handle poorly like stock cars of the 70’s. Then they create rules that make it very difficult for any team to outperform another and then they wonder why the rolling parking lot is so tight that there are big crashes.
