I had to pick her up from the airport once. SHE IS SO WEE AND TINY. It took every bit of energy to control myself and not freak out and tell her how much I love her. She did give me a hug when I greeted her and I DIED.

I tried to find the video but couldn't. :( Super simple apartment. She spent the most time explaining her recycling station.

I adore Bessie Smith and can't wait to see this. She was really some kind of woman. Here is a great excerpt from her biography, "Bessie," by Chris Albertson, that describes an incident at a party that Bessie went to with her niece Ruby Walker (whose account of the incident follows) and three other women after her

The only thing she said was we all have to fight for each other. That is it. She never claimed anyone else's rights have been acheived. This whole article and most comments are the weirdest interpretation of anyone's words ever.

I don't think she was implying that POC and LGBT people are already equal at all. I have said what she is saying and used similar wording but as a brown person no one saw it as me being insensitive about racial discrimination. So I think that's where the problem lies, had she been a brown or black woman saying it,
