I recommend Lucky Star or Minami-ke (there's 4 seasons). I really liked Minami-ke, I 've only seen 3 seasons of it. It follows three sisters who live together and their adventures and conversations are pretty funny.

"Remember this is all in their imagination" is probably the line I look forward to every episode lol.

Weird? It's 2014. The point of the internet is to connect to people lol. I have some friends I play League with from Singapore, Korea, Brazil, etc, and the culture clash has been pretty interesting. I also have met some people near me via online gaming and we met up and still hang out now. Be more open-minded. ;)
