Much as people bag on tumblr sexualities or whatever, reading about demisexuality was really helpful for me, and indicated that some of the things about myself that I worried were aberrant or bespoke some internal brokenness were at least common enough for someone to think of a name for.

Noel Murray writing a newswire article? It happened!

Conspiracy theorists posit some kind of "magic ham", that could change direction mid-flight

If I were making up a story about being mugged at gunpoint to my mom, I'd definitely paint my team mates as scared babies while I stood there, kind of mad but mostly bored, like "usually I'd settle you guys myself but I'm trying to win the fucking OLYMPICS, so. Whatever. It's your lucky day, boys, Ryan Lochte can't

The journalism on this site's taken a real slide from the glory days of Paula Deen Hit in Face by Ham

Maybe I'm just having trouble working on the same 3D chess level as Lochte, but I can't quite make out the connection between the two events. They kicked in a gas station bathroom door and vandalised a sign so he said they'd been mugged? Like as a mitigating circumstance for why they'd vandalised the store?

I don't know, it doesn't even read like heat of the moment, he just comes off pretty toxic. A lot of his shorter comments on various articles, if I read them on twitter from a poster with an anime avatar, TRUMP 2016 in his bio and two followers, they wouldn't seem in any way out of place.

Allegations and culture wars aspects aside, just reading through some of the articles containing old posts of his, stuff like "Ah weak girls who think they're strong. My favorite" make him sound like an unbelievable asshole.

I think *flips through AV Club almanac* some of the backlash on Alvin was above-the-line commentary as well as BTL stuff, Steve Hyden and Kyle Ryan et al discussed it

I definitely need to go back through it, it was better than the reception it got, but it didn't inspire a lot of repeat listening, and there are some tunes on there

I'm definitely thinking of forking out the cash for a ticket. I don't think being a nostalgia act is an artistic betrayal per se, but the idea of seeing The Pixies as a going concern does feel different to the idea of seeing them play Doolittle front to back or whatever, much as I've loved them the three times I've

Snakes would probably fit on an old Pixies record, out of everything on that album

Advertising is apparently starting to appear in Pyongyang too, and for the same reason that drives advertising anywhere - there's a wealth class emerging and they're trying to reach them (although I'm not sure how close Juche is to USSR-style communism?)

I still remember the joy after travelling 90 minutes to some obscure record shop, and finding they had a CD by a band I'd heard about but never been able to find. Not even the record I wanted, just any old CD by Mudhoney or whoever, even if I would learn later that the album I'd bought is widely regarded as [band]'s

Awesome list! Ditto the ones below.

The idea of someone buying a piece of physical media containing one song for $12 because it contained a sheet containing the lyrics to an album - which were hotly-disputed among fans because there was no way up to that point of knowing for sure what they were - is probably akin to the idea of polio or horse-based

I really like his books but always zoom through them in a couple of days, so I think I miss some of the craft.

Cheerfully withdrawn, in that case. I couldn't see anything on Amid's Twitter account so figured nothing was being done with it since the article came out last week

It's nice how the interviewer runs an Animation site that a lot of industry people use and the dude is so focused on this heralding a new era of adult animation that he's shown no curiosity whatsoever about the allegations and just followed his hagiographic interview with follow-his like "Sausage party scores a meaty

If it was in the front row at a show and he picked it for Dancer in the Dark, I bet it would
