Hold onto hope! This expansion is all about recruiting allied playable races for the war effort and although they haven’t been announced, its entirely possible to play as snake people.

What’s this ‘war’ thing? These green little paw prints on my minimap deserve my full undivided attention...
At first I thought all the features were a bit gimmicky. And then you wipe like 10 times, only to realize you will need them MMO strats, specifically FF MMOs. Luckily I used to play them so this collabo is definitely for me. But for those that haven’t played them, it’s just an extra learning curve that makes this hunt…
Well, they’re modeling the same strategy as the Behemoth encounter in FFXIV, but yeah I do agree they probably shouldn’t be the norm.
Yeah, I don’t think style of fight should be too commonplace but I like that the game’s designers are experimenting and offering new experiences.
It’s super cool that Behemoth is a fight that requires genuine teamwork and clear communication, but much like raids in Destiny, that’s just not something I enjoy.
Still, the fact that something like this exists in MHW is super, super cool.
What do the monster hunter fans think of this fight? I heard that they didnt really like it but that was from a guy in my ffxiv group. The FFXIV monster hunter fight is pretty good and keeping with the theme, they make you “skin” the monster at the end of the fight.
“Pathfinding algorithms have been optimized for decades, and really don’t do anything crazy difficult”
To clarify, each sim plans their own path, upfront, before starting to follow it. It’s not a cached path generated at build time.
The paths are planned upfront, but are monitored for invalidation when new things are placed.
Reminds me of the time I’d break Sims 1 by making a forest fire and a mansion fire at the same time. I think the farthest it ever got, without computer limitations, just software, was about half the screen on fire with various other things going on. (Forget if I ever did just a forest fire with grill or not)
I am thrilled that The Chinese Room is up and running, though sad that Jessica Curry is leaving (all of her work was phenomenal and a big part of what made those games work).
Esther was an interesting few hours. Rapture was an amazing convergence of story, art, and interactive media that really resonated with me on an emotional level. Curry’s music, especially in Rapture, is hauntingly beautiful and ranks up there with other great video game composers. I hope her health has stabilized…
Rapture is a game that really has stuck with me, despite no real recollection of what it was all about. Did I ever know? Unclear. I think that was my first foray into the “walking simulator” genre, though, which I seek out nowadays.
I’m not sure exactly what they can do, but one thing I do know is that it’s easy to disable network play and it’s a huge galaxy. You can literally go incredibly far from any of these civs if you like.
This may read like Eve, but it’s far from it. Seriously, nothing in NMS currently resembles the stuff that truly screws over people like in Eve. The story here is mostly relegated to a couple of civs in NMS, most players won’t/don’t notice this kind of stuff. NMS is still all about exploration. The Civ stuff is just…
This type of stuff has been going on for as long as multiplayer games have existed. I think we practiced more “espionage” against other clans than we actually ever played Xwing or FOCOM
Literally the first thing I did was seek out and disable network play. Definitely don't have time for this nonsense. But I'm glad it's an option for people who want it.
Thank you. Fixing immediately.
Kevin, you know that I love me some hiyashi chuuka, but Japan Today is wrong: this is actually Jiro-kei (Jiro-style ramen), which is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever put in my mouth.
(Jiro-style is a carb-bomb geared for students and enthusiasts who care more about quantity over quality. It consists of…
