No! No! You’re not going to tempt me into picking up DF again! Lalala I can’t hear you!

This is really, really, really well-written. I knew the spikes were coming, but I didn’t anticipate that the announcers would know. I would continue reading this fanfic.

See, this is where the guy messed up. He screwed the rules to get money. Everyone knows you have to have money first.

Sorry your local R1 isn’t very good. I’ve never been to one in Japan proper, but the one near Seattle usually at least has the machines in good order. You should check it out if you’re ever in the area!

Thanks for the suggestions! Work is sending me to Tokyo in a month, and my goal is to unlock at least one Extra Stage song in Dancerush Stardom while I'm there. Now I have some idea of the Tokyo arcade landscape!

He does actually have a name! They named him after the N64 CPU:

I don’t know if there’s an official list, but I’ll never miss a chance to link one of my favorite Kotaku articles of all time. How does 40 years grab you? From the dawn of easter eggs to last year:

Sort of. Both characters are actual animation from the show, and both of them were exactly what this meme makes them looks like. But they didn’t happen at the same time, originally.

While we’re asking for dragons and forces from the Saturn, someone please dig up Dragon Force and give more people a chance to play it. That game is criminally obscure.

Great news! Good Smile Company (lordy, that name has never felt more apropos) has you covered:

I love so much how this FF14/MHW crossover has been handled. I was just expecting some token references in each game to the other. The way each game has basically pulled in a tiny slice of the other’s world, complete with its different rules and expectations, is fantastic. It truly feels like you’re traveling to

Is this a Zen koan?

Thanks for tip #2. That was my instinct, especially since I assume it will tutorial me on the new way of doing things, but I wasn’t sure if it would be worth the plunge. Thanks for confirming. Happily, my save is not so far in that it won’t be worth sacrificing to start over.

Do they still have that hidden side area in the Valley of Trials where shaman used to have to go to do totem quests? I know totem quests aren’t part of the game anymore, but is the area there? I always loved that area most. It was quiet, secret, and steeped in my class’s specific lore. Plus, if you climbed the walls

Thank you for that very complete answer! I’ve got some research to do. :-)

Wow! I had no idea there were that many! Where does one go to learn about this stuff?

I’m pretty sure they know. DBFZ is amazingly self-aware.

He would, but the Goku brain in Ginyu’s body would not count. I maintain there is a Law of Conservation of Goku, and Goku can neither be created nor destroyed.

I haven’t even had time to play the new demo, but Primrose’s voice actress was SO GOOD in the first demo (especially that speech before the boss battle) that I can’t imagine making anyone else my MC. But hey, maybe I'd better meet this wandering scholar with a great voice…

The Relm glitch cannot alter the ROM of the cart (it is, as implied, read-only) but there are reports of it corrupting the SRAM (where the saves are stored) in such a way that a cartridge becomes unbootable unless you do surgery to pull the battery and reset the SRAM. Presumably, it puts something in a state the
