This is a 70s Brazilian pickup based on a VW 1600 that looks like the ancestor of the Cybertruck. https://quatrorodas.abril.com.br/noticias/formigao-picape-brasileira-que-esta-43-anos-a-frente-da-tesla-cybertruck/

Shame on you for not mentioning the Lane’s Corphibian!

You know that there was a Corvair concept amphibious vehicle, don’t you? For some reason they put the controls in the back. https://www.lanemotormuseum.org/collection/cars/item/chevrolet-corphibian-1961

Need I remind everyone that the ISS is the final resting place of James “Scotty” Doohan? He wouldn’t give up the ship, so why should we? https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/tv/2020/12/28/star-trek-scotty-james-doohans-ashes-smuggled-space-station/4057236001/

Most of the chrome has been blacked out as well. That wouldn’t become a trend until a few years later.

Oooh, speaking as someone who knows a bit about the history of this car, you missed a few key details about the project. Richard Jones, who was one of the original founders of the Tucker Club (and had probably helped restore more Tuckers than just about anyone on the planet before he died) made a good case that not

One hopes that it turns out better than this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Vival

Not seeing how this beats building one’s own MAME cabinet.

Well, the folks at Buick didn’t design the boat tail Rivera until several years after Alex did this and Alex’s concept for a turbine powered Tucker anticipated aspects of Chrysler’s 60s-era turbine car and Chrysler’s C-bodies of the late 60s.  So, he certainly did think ahead of many other in the industry.  (Fun fact:

Call me when they start production.

Looks like someone is going to be doing a podcast about Preston Tucker soon.  https://holdthattiger.libsyn.com/

Fun fact: Alex Tremulis designed that in the mid-60s but dated the illustration to make it look like he did it when he worked for Tucker. (Mind you, Alex WAS working on advanced designs for Tucker back then, but this wasn’t one of them.)  Still, you have to wonder if the guys who came up with the boat tail Rivera

With the planet heating up, a global pandemic raging unchecked in the US, and the potential for civil war breaking out in the US, I am so glad we’ve got you to let us know where we can buy a gaming console that won’t be out for a couple of months, and costs more than the average American makes in a week!

So, who’s going to write the first book in the exciting new genre of mosspunk?

I’m guessing Jay has a thing for low-key folks.  I’ve talked to people who’ve worked with Jay’s mechanic and they said he’ll ask very basic questions, to the point where you’re wondering if he knows anything at all, and then, once he’s got the hang of things, will hit you with things that make you realize his mind is

WTF is “gorunding”?

The 1971 Chrysler Newport I used to own weighed in at 4,200 lbs.  The 1980 Honda Prelude I used to own (which was small enough you could have fit it inside the Chrysler if you ripped the interior out) was 3,600 lbs.  The Honda was a safer car, I’m sure, and it certainly got a lot better gas mileage.

You’ve confused Emil Deidt with Timbs. Deidt was one of the metal men on the Tucker and he also did the bodywork on Timbs’ car.

Plum ketchup is the bomb.  Way better than tomato-based ketchup.
