They tried rain tires a few years ago in the (then) Nationwide series at the Canada road course. It just didn’t pan out well. The cars are too heavy. Also rain tires can only be used on road course, ovals at high rates of speed on rain doesn’t pan out well and there are only a few road courses they run.
