Incomplete. Dark Souls, and Demons Souls and Kings Field never had a driving narrative or story to guide the player. It was ALWAYS about wandering into the unknown and piecing it together for yourself. FF on the other hand has always been about story, cutscenes, dialogue, descriptions.

I’m not arguing that Tracer should be Bi or Pan or whatever. My problem is with this article saying “girl kissing girl, must be lesbian”, constantly using that word and never realizing that the character might be bisexual or pansexual instead.

Sure, I agree. Maybe it’s helpful to clarify that I do not think trying to reach an empirically correct balance is a good way to go. That creates the circular logic.

See, that’s another way to think about it. Should all things try to represent the statistic reality of sexuality in America/Europe/Western culture? That would mean, as you said, that less than one character in Overwatch is queer, an empirically supported reality. The problem is that it doesn’t really satisfy anyone.

Okay, this is going to be a touch pedantic, but it’s something that’s irked me about this topic for a long while: Being in a lesbian relationship does not make someone a lesbian, just as being in a heterosexual relationship does not make one heterosexual. Bisexuality and Pansexuality are things that exist.

Weirdly, this sort of conversation bums me out, and here’s why:

As a pansexual person, YES. This was my first thought, too. I get it, this is literally the only thing to go off of at the moment, but damn. I get enough erasure with an opposite sexed partner as is. :P

I’m all for positive representations in popular culture but can somebody explain to me why Overwatch’s lore seems to be about the domestic minutia of their lives? I mean being gay/non-binary is dope but I’m way more interested in like their superpowers and weapons and stuff.
