1) Printing is a surprisingly small slice of the cost of publishing. Especially for publishers creating work, versus linking to it. Wired cites a figure of less than 5%, maybe 3%.

The unfortunate thing about relying on oil/gas/coal industry-funded "research", such as you have, is that they only pay for results that fit their quarterly statement.

I remember fondly my Grandmother recommending the works of Tennyson. Much to my delight, I discovered rather graphic Holmes/Watson slash fiction hidden within the volume she praised.
