Semis are low volume production and sell for a high retail price.

This is Tesla we’re talking about. Software is the hammer that fixes everything.

Its surprisingly a lot of states where tesla cannot sell direct. That said, people don’t have to drive that far to get a new tesla. Most can be done in a few hours with the exception of Texas

This new $42,900 starting MSRP minus the current $3,750 federal incentive comes to $39,150. They are slowly but surely approaching that $35K target!

Almost all of those Germans are dead, how long do you hold a grudge? Also the Japanese really were directly responsible for our entry into the second round.

Ooof.  I see that on the Twitters now.  Yikes.

Tesla - This is where the dealership model could really benefit them. How many tens of thousands of cars do manufacturers foist upon dealers that are then left with the task of selling? How many Rogues would Nissan really be able to sell without the dealers and their salespeople closing people that come in to look?

You could demonstrate this by looking at sales figures for low-cost, small EVs from other manufactures.

I just saw first-hand stuff from Tesla owners on twitter yesterday. I know some people from Ars Technica are working on a story, but no idea if anything is actually live yet.

3rd Gear.  Wall street is happy with GM.  America is not.  They produce Meh vehicles that are ugly and invisible at the same time.  The Chevy Blazer looks like a Traverse with a different badge.  The Camaro has the visibility of a pill box.

I will likely buy a Model 3 but during all the delays I wound up leasing a Jag XE and stuck in that POS lease till mid 2020. Not to mention buying a 65k vehicle vs leasing one are totally different financial commitments. Esp when I only typically keep a vehicle 2 yrs. My typical style is to lease new, buy slightly

I’m surprised the Tesla odometer rollback issue didn’t make the list today. That’s a potentially massive disaster for them.

I’m actually looking forward to the VW electric ‘GTI, the I.D.

I was thinking more along the lines of brand identity. The Europeans are quite partial to their home grown cars. Once a Porsche EV is available, I’m curious to see how they respond.

I’ve met a few people waiting for the 35k car and I tell them to look at the eNiro instead. Although those will probably sell out quick (limited global production) and the CCS network is nowhere near supercharging. If that’s an issue get a bmw 330e

My guess is it won’t actually change much. since the incentives will

The real question is will they be able to sustain it? Dropping the price up front isn’t really good for optics and they can easily get caught in the price wars with the others.

That’s like saying, “that woman is good looking, except for her face”.

It does kind of look like a stretched egg. Too derpy in the rear end but great everywhere else. Similar to a BMW 3 GT for example.

A $35K Model 3 would be helpful, but a more aesthetically pleasing exterior design would also be helpful

Battery technology is improving too quickly for there to be a “standard battery”.
