Remote work is great once a team has been established but I can’t imagine starting a new job without physical presence. I’ve been totally remote for a year now, and it’s working out fine for both me and my employer, but I was 3 years into the job when we started on remote. It would have been really tough to start my

1st: Does it really need pointing out that people who work in factories can’t build cars from their kitchen table?

“The 2021 Halcyon 450 starts at $13,500.

I had the same takeaway. I mean, you drove on the interstate through the midwest, this isn’t the Highway of Death through Baghdad. I live in Kansas and everyone wears masks. Hell, you get bad looks if you DON’T wear masks around here. Sure, out in the sticks there are more people that put up a fight to mask wearing.

Yup. Some people really, really want to claim the mantle of victimhood. I guess that “I drove across the country, and nothing happened” isn’t clickbaity enough for Jalopnik.

Oh, a look.

Tldr; Judgemental guy drives through judgmental places but with differing views. Gets sad.

I felt attacked from all sides — the bullying tractor-trailers on the highway, the flatness, the cold, the constant anxiety about where it would be safe to piss.

No wonder you almost had a nervous breakdown. It must have been horrifying to encounter people that aren’t like you.

Jesus Christ, did you really need to write an entire story about how your picture would pop up if a republican did a Google search for “snowflake”?

I don’t even like that term, I think it’s a stupid blanket term “those” folks use to denigrate people they don’t agree with....but my god this is it. I get it now.

Lemme

It’s going to be ok, I promise. The people outside the city are not out to get you.

That auction is ridiculous:

Buy what you want and/or need. I got bigger shit to worry about than your truck.

Wow, Truck Yeah isn’t even pretending anymore.

the fact that most people who buy trucks don’t need them

I wonder how much happier people would be if they stopped concerning themselves with other people’s wallets and choices.

Sounds like a truck isn’t for you. That’s cool. Buy what you want.

The difference in fuel economy between my Tacoma (19mpg) and Camry (20mpg) is basically negligible. I’ve never once been asked why I have a Camry.

It’s only trucks that need to justify themselves to this type of person by working at their capacity all the time too.

I’ve always found it weird that people concern themselves with what other people are buying. I have a truck. It’s really no one’s business other than my own as to why I have a truck. I don’t need to justify it to anyone else. These same questions never get asked of people with sports cars or people with motorcycles.
