That you enjoy “watching a privileged person getting owned” as a regular pastime says a lot (mostly negative) about your character.
Nissan Titan did this too. I wish F-150 still would; that box is very cool.
Screw off.
For all we know, grandpa Krawll may have pulled himself up by the bootstraps in 19-diggity-three and worked his ass off for those $10k plane tickets. He may have one foot in the grave and this is his last hurrah. He might be a scumbag CEO playing with golden parachute money. The important thing is Erik Shilling…
100% agree. When I read this quote in the article, I was like, seriously?
And really, its 10k. Spending 10 grand on a family vacation that you maybe saved up for years and used some of your airline miles and rewards points on is a fairly mundane thing.
“each anecdote is often a mini-tale of a privileged person getting owned”
A principle I’ve tried in recent years is to expand on for myself is the concept of “if you don’t believe in X for those you disagree with, then you don’t believe in X.” One of the unfortunate sides of this is realizing what horrible flaming hypocrites many people are.
Imagine the irony if that guy turned out to be a UAW worker.
Honestly, fuck you.
It’s sad that you’re probably a big boy (or girl) now and you can’t see the irony in what you just said.
Also another point I wanted to add: this was called ‘Nice Price and Crack Pipe’ for the longest time. Yet the language police only decided to show up when it was conveniently pointed out by the author.
I don’t live in the US so I didn’t know this. Am I being willfully obtuse too? Should I start frantically googling everything that’s offensive on the planet just so I could talk about cars on the internet without feeling like I’m stepping on a landmine?
My point was, how can anyone constantly abide by the rules of language and speech, when there is no set standard at all, and the goal post changes everyday (not to mention language and ideas are inconsistent across the globe)?
I’m NOT white, and I completely agree with him.
Nice Price or Crack Pipe is not nearly as racist as No Dice. It’s well established that the most commonly played version of Dice is street craps and that’s an African American street game. Sure dice originated in greece and craps was institutionalized in Rome but here in the United States the game belongs to people…
This is life now. Every topic comes with a slice of “How can it be racist?” pie.
after reading the below comments, if crack is a racially insensitive drug, perhaps it should be outlawed.
Now with Crack Pipe being removed and replaced with No Dice, we’ll have to worry about the wayward gamblers.
