I would love something like this to putter around with on some property.

Not in Sterling Heights, but close by.

It was absolutely awful, because not only did I sell the truck that I loved locally, I sold it to a guy in my neighborhood.

I can’t tell you how disappointed I was when I heard the Blaney was leaving Wood Brothers (to go back to Penske, which, good for him) and his roll was going to be filled by Menard.

I’d have to agree with you. Based on the (blurry) wheel images, my guess would be a 97-98 and with the chrome grille/bumpers is definitely a SLT model.

100% agree that it needed to be done to a chrome bumper car. (Wire wheels would help the cause as well!)

Okie Dokie Doctor Jones! Hold onto your potato!

Thanks, I was unaware of the bump.

How is 12,750 lbs towing capacity “pathetic”? It beats both the F-150 and the Silverado/Sierra. The F-150 is 12,500, where as GM trucks are around 12,300. It’s a half-ton truck, how much is it supposed to tow?

If the rest of your drivetrain is shot, maybe buy this rig and swap in your “healthy” engine? It’s right around the corner and looks pretty good for the price. Then you can use Redwood for whatever additional parts you may need.

That’s correct. Basically drive the truck like it’s a 3-speed (2-4.)

Rear portion of the shift knob. You really only used first gear if you were hauling/towing something.

Drive an older truck with a NP435 transmission (4-speed with 1st gear being a “creeper” gear) and most of the time when you put it into first the shifter hits the dash.

You are correct. I’ve always had good luck with them, so I stick with them!

Currently on the hunt, waiting for the right one to come along...

All four of my 4-wheel vehicles are powered by thirsty V8s (two 5.7L Hemis, a 4.7L V8 and a 5.2L V8), so no, I don’t worry about fuel economy all that much.

When a Corgi is too mainstream, step up to a Swedish Vallhund!

My assumption is one set is probably blackwall, and the others have white letters.

They are actually pretty efficient, I used to get 24+ mpg with my 1988 4WD 5-speed.

It’s not carbureted, it has throttle body injection with 2 injectors (though it looks like a carburetor.) You are correct on the brakes, as it does have rear drums.
