Xfinity is the way to go if you have a wifi only device. Every xfinity router has a secondary hotspot network running alongside the private one the customer uses. Any xfinity customer can tap in to those hotspots.
Not if it’s on the store’s wifi. The network is the company’s, not yours, so they can direct traffic over the dns in whatever way they please.
