This is admittedly a small thing, but why is that $99.99 = $99 while $399.99 = $400? Doesn't it make more sense to round up a penny? This .99999999 stuff is nonsense anyway. It's a hundred bucks.

Re: "Safari or another non-standard browser"

Bad idea. Many libraries, especially college libraries, levy significant fines for any Post-it notes found in books. Why? Because the adhesive in Post-it notes will remain on the paper and cause long-term damage to the book.

So let this be a lesson to all young entrepreneurs out there. Don't lie in e-mails

Brilliant job, Martin. Lifehacking at its finest, especially since you're dedicated to tweaking and tweaking until you get it perfect!

@MattHall: Intersections work in New York, so I bet they're working on that capability for other cities. (Hopefully!)

I found Spotlight decent but underwhelming until Leopard, when Apple fine-tuned it and sped it up to a remarkable degree. Now it's indispensable. One of my favorite ways to use Spotlight is as a quick dictionary lookup. Just type in the word and a "definition" item will appear near the top.

Let's try this:

I used to use Mail.appetizer, but I got tired of the fact that there was no way to exclude spam from the notifications. (I don't know if that feature has been added in this latest beta.) To get that functionality, I use SpamSieve in conjunction with Growl, a combo that is rock-solid in Leopard. SpamSieve is pay

@mrmaguda: Yeah, you're right. She explains why she cheered at the wrong time (the referees' hands weren't up, so she thought the defense had made a stop) and then complains about the subsequent Photoshop jobs placing her at other inopportune moments. She's not denying the original sin.

It's been said, but if you watch the post-game footage, it's obvious that Brady was joking about making the first down if they hadn't called the timeout. He was in full-on TMQ smirk mode when he said that, and he got a big laugh.

Actually, after seeing the latest data posted on Fire Joe Morgan, he's terrible at math, too. I now have no idea what Timmeh was trying to say.

@major disaster: I'm surprised more people haven't raised this point, because that's what McCarver meant. And actually, for the most part, that is how he phrased it. The problem is that both times he brought this up, McCarver said, "You would think that a leadoff walk would lead to more big innings than a leadoff home
